The Darin Wainscott Memorial Scholarship Foundation was founded in 2013 with the intention of honoring Darin’s memory through the years to come and his undying spirit of giving. Darin was a 1988 graduate of Butler High School and was a current member of the board of education at the time of his death. He was so passionate about this school district and it was his personal goal to do his part to make sure that the students here were afforded the best possible education and academic opportunities.

The Darin Wainscott Memorial Scholarship is a $1,000, non‐renewable scholarship that is annually awarded to a senior student at Butler High School. The recipients of this scholarship are to exemplify attributes of selflessness, good character, and strong work ethic. Upon being awarded the scholarship, the recipient is responsible for presenting proof of enrollment towards further education.

Our foundation has been supported through generous donations and also through the organization Giving Fore Living, an annual golf tournament, banquet and fundraising event.
